Yellowstone and the Badlands

Day 1: Fly into Bozeman International Airport. (I saw a flight that landed there at 11:30 am from RDU, United Airlines)

* Get your automobile rentals

*Drive to Yellowstone Park through the NW Entrance

* Drive the Loop that will take you by Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Roosevelt, Canyon area, Norris area, and Madison.

*Drive out the West Entrance and there you are in the town of West Yellowstone which is a quaint, little, western town I think has all the feel you want in a trip like this. West Yellowstone also has several restaurants and shopping. .

* Check into your cabin in West Yellowstone

Day 2: After breakfast either at your cabin or in one of the restaurants in West Yellowstone, enter the park through the West Entrance and spend this day driving the southern loop which includes:

*Lake area, Bridge Bay Marina area, West Thumb, Grant Village area, and Old Faithful area

*Stop within the Park at any of the lodges for lunch or pack a lunch to eat at any of the sights.

*Drive back through the West Entrance to your cabin in West Yellowstone

Day 3: After breakfast enter the West Entrance again and drive to the South Entrance which will take you to the Grand Teton National Park area and toward Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This is approximately a 2.5 hour drive to the park.

*Spend the day driving the 49 mile loop of the Grand Teton National Park stopping along the way to see the sights.

* Drive back through the South Entrance to the West West Entrance to spend your last evening in your cabin in West Yellowstone, Montana.

Day 4: Check out of your cabin in West Yellowstone and enter the park through the West Entrance and exit it through the East Entrance towards Cody, Wyoming. To get to Cody from West Yellowstone it's approximately 3.5 hours. Drive to Gillette, Wyoming to spend the evening and stop to see what you want to see along the way and stop to visit Devils Tower along the way.

*There are several affordable hotels for your party to stay for just one evening in Gillete, Wyoming

Day 5: Check out of your hotel in Gillette, eat breakfast somewhere (there are plenty of places to go in this small city) then head east towards Rapid City, South Dakota.

*Visit the Badlands and Mount Rushmore

*End this leg of the trip in Rapid City, SD, check into one of the many affordable hotels for your party to stay for just one evening.

Day 6: Check out of the hotel, Turn in car/SUV/Minivan rentals at Rapid City Regional Airport, and check in for your flight back to North Carolina.

1. West Yellowstone Cabin (3 nights) - $1000.00 - $1200.00

2. Gillete, Wyoming hotel room - $100.00 - $200.00 per room

3.. Rapid City, SD hotel room - $100.00 - $200.00 per room

4. Roundtrip Airline Tickets - $450.00 per passenger

5. Rental Car/SUV/Van - $1000 - $2000 for the week depending on what size automobile you get.
